Anyone else hunting this weekend? been in Choctaw county since yesterday morning. Been slow and quiet so far, if I don't count the pigs.

Dadgum coon dogs. I think I would take the batteries out of the collars if they came running into our lease while I was there.

one of our guys killed a pretty big hog. it was probably close to 250. I drew back on one but got winded. I think that between four hunters in camp, excluding the guys who came to drink, we saw a total of one deer on the hoof. the place is looking good though and we are ready to rock for the rest of the season. put some new cameras out and moved around a couple that were not giving up much. have a pretty solid ten point, close to 140" visiting in the daytime near one of my stands. I may not be up again until muzzle loader when I spend the entire season in the woods (9 days). probably hunt locally till then. plan to hit it hard in November with the bow and again for a week during rifle.

I almost bought a bear license but decided against it. Then the first sit, I see the dang bear. He was small but I would have taken him.

Kinda slow for us this weekend. I took my soon to be son in-law out for his 1st ever hunt and he shot right over the back of a doe.

Hunted Thursday through Saturday morning. Had a nice 8 and a young scrubby 4 point come by the stand (together). Had two does and a fawn come on as well. I didnít witness any chasing. No more sign of the bear. Looking forward to cooler weather. Good luck!

Hunted Saturday evening with all three kids since we finally had a day with no sports. Saw four doe and a few hogs. Deer are starting to hit acorns and only stop at corn briefly at my place

nice, im not sure if I'll make it up this weekend with the rain chances. I plan to be up for the entire MZ season though with most of the other members in our camp. we should have a full house and hopefully get some deer on the ground. the weather is shaping up to be nice. last year it was hot and pitiful hunting.

Hunting the border of Pittsburg and Latimer counties and the mature bucks are chasing hard. We have seen at least two each day chasing hard since Sunday. This is the earliest we have ever seen mature bucks on does. Also seeing doe fawns without mama. A 5 year old buck came by 4 times in an hour, grunting and following does.

Lots of bucks pushing doe on camera lots of scrapes. I would say muzzleloader is right on time. Be in the stand as much as possible between now and thanksgiving.

Hunted Friday and Saturday before the storm. I shot a doe and lost blood after 100 yards. Looked for several hours with no luck. Cameras showed not much activity, but that was over hand corn spots. Acorns are dropping by the thousands it appears, as I still see about half left in the trees.

Good luck, ready to get back out there.

we usually get our best buck photos where they cross the logging roads. It seems the the only ones who hit the feeders are the hogs. starting to wonder why we attract them. Here are some recent photos. A pretty dang big pig one of our members got the 2nd weekend of bow season as well as a couple bucks, one of them is a shooter, and a shed pile to give you guys an idea of the quality we have on our patch of woods. Im already packed and the smoke pole is sighted in at an inch high at 100 yards. In TX where I hunt we can only use bow so MZ season is a welcome change for me every year. We will be up from this Friday through the following Sunday. According to everything Im seeing here as well as on FB groups the OK rut might actually be starting... the temps should be outstanding compared to the last few years so I'm feeling like we are going to have some good hunts coming up.

same buck

i saw something in the land and lease section on TX hunting forum yesterday. sounds like its from a broker though and all at 9$ an acre. Kinda high if you ask me for Push county, especially without lodging. check paper company websites like wayerhouser, etc. they have info on their leases. most of us lease paper company land.

Thanks man. Iíve checked with wayerhouser and didnít see anything available. Iíve seen the post from the broker you are talking about with several properties and they were all listed at 9 dollars an acre. Iím never leased from a ďbrokerĒ and just the thought of it kind of scared me lol. Thanks for the info though and if anyone else knows of anything shoot me a pm so I donít highjack this thread.

This is some of the property we had last year. We walked away from it. I hope he don't lease 1 acre of it. He is going to go up every year until they get to 12$ buyer beware.

This old doe has been running by herself all year. No fawn this year, no family group, running everything else off the feeder for a month. She busted me on 3 of my hunts on the first 2 days of the season. Finally got up to Push again with her in my sights top of my hit list. The wind yesterday played in my favor and I closed the deal.

I took my son to the lease this past weekend for youth season. The hunt lasted 45 minutes. He got his first racked buck and 4th doe!

Made the kiddos drag them out too.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, I was out Thursday to Sunday and saw lots of action, does being pushed and bucks slamming heads. Blackpowder hunters always seem to shuffle the deer around near Hugo and we've added a few more to our hit list.Name: WGI_0017.jpg

Had chance at this monster at 40 yards but just couldn't get him to stop in a lane I felt comfortable with. Anyone have better luck with the excellent weather this weekend?

A few deer we shot at the McGee Creek WMA muzzle loader hunt. We saw so much chasing and aggression this past weekend. It sure is prime time around that area.

Cold and wet is no way to go through life, unless itís the rut?

Anyone seeing anything? I had no time this year to do anything and didnít think I was gonna get to hunt at all, but then my wife told me to get after it for five days, so here I am, freezing my butt off on public land hoping I catch a giant slipping up looking for love. Set up on a post oak flat thatís south of a dry creek bottom. From what I figured out last year most deer bed around thick cedar patches for cover in that creek bottom then travel this oak flat, I donít know where they go, since thereís a large field behind me with grass as tall as I am, but my thoughts are with this north wind bucks should cruise this flat scent checking those bedding areas. Saw a four point and a busted up tall and wide 8 yesterday and had a yearling fawn walk by this morning. Weíll see what the day holds. If I donít have much action by noonish Iím moving my stand a hundred yards or so, or I may go get on a north facing ridge and hunt there. Decisions, decisions.
