I use the resulting number as the farthest distance that a deer is unlikely to be able to jump the string...not an absolute, just a planning factor.

    Here's the math I used:
    360 fps divided by 4 (.25 seconds) = 90 feet
    90 feet divided by 3 = 30 yards

    I believe the arrow will be lethal well past 30 yards but do my best to limit my shots on game to 30 yards or less. Hope this helps...YMMV
    Try again sir.

      Sadly.....most people still have not figured that out

          So TRUE

            They can move. I used a crossbow once. It was a long time ago so I'm sure they are faster now. But the doe gave me a broadside shot at 20-22 yards. When I found here the bolt had went in through the ham and was sitting inside her cavity long ways so no exit.

                  No.
                  10yrds=30ft
                  20yrds=60ft
                  30yrds=90ft

                  Not sure what FND is talking about.

                      Not sure about a deer but a bobcat can. I would think a deer could also.

                        30 feet is ten yards.

                                I don’t. Why did you make 90 feet into 30 feet?
