    Homemade Salsa

    Anytime we have people over, they rave over my hot sauce. The funny truth is it takes about five minutes at a cost of maybe $2.

    This is not about any kind of special hot sauce, it's about quick, easy, fresh, and better than any you buy in a jar. Measurements are never the same, but always turns out.

    Canned tomatoes, drained WELL
    Onion (doesn't take much)
    Cilantro
    Jalepeno(s)
    Salt
    Lime juice

    Throw it all in a blender and hit it on low for 10 seconds.

    Done

    I use a can Rotel, garlic salt and fresh Cilantro for a quick mix. Blend it up in the blender. It usually doesn't last long.

          that's about right for a good quick Salsa,, but I have to have main ingridients, wich are Cumin, Fresh Garlic, Salt, Pepper, those 4 items are the base for almost all Mexican food, as far the flavor profile, (sure its not everyone's cup of tea)
          saying that,
          my salsa, I add some Chile Guajillo powder, as well as Chile Ancho powder that just gives it a more old world flavor... all this is IMO only

            Guys we have to help out at corporate lease are true Mexicans and man are they hard workers and great cooks!

            Place all veggies in large pot of water
            4-5 large tomatoes
            2-3 onions
            3-5 japnos (however hot you want it)
            1-2 serano (again however hot you want it)

            Boil them all together... Once tomato skins start to come off strain and put into Cuisinart Add salt pep cumin and lime juice to taste and some olive oil or veggie oil and spin to your liking

              Are tomatoes left whole? Assuming onions cut into chunks?

                We make ours similar when we do Taco nights. We just leave our the onion and add some garlic.

                  Man, I love homemade salsa.

                  Grill (for about 10 - 12 minutes turning once):
                  Three large tomatoes or equivalent amount of tomatillos
                  1 white onion cut in half
                  however many of whatever peppers I'm in the mood for

                  Move all the grilled stuff into the blender
                  Add however much you like of:
                  Cilantro
                  Garlic
                  Salt
                  Black Pepper

                  Blend until desired consistency.

                  Best when fresh, but stores and re-heats well also.

                    Smoke for 20 minutes:
                    5 large tomatoes
                    4 JalapeƱos
                    2 Bell peppers
                    1/2 an onion

                    Then roast in the smoker on 225 for an hour
                    Combine all in a blender with cilantro, garlic, salt and pepper.

                        I make mine almost the same. I add a little garlic and season with Bolners mesquite flavored fajita seasoning. Pulse in my food processor until the consistency I like. You are right very quick and easy. I use Serrano peppers sometimes and it is great as well.
