Does anyone have experience with geothermal units here? I'm getting bids for our new home and I'm very interested to hear from actual users. We live in Tomball just north of Houston. Thanks for any insight.

I work on them if that counts. I have installed, maintained, and serviced many of them. If they are maintained they can be good. Hard to find people that have enough experience with them. If the loop gets a hole in it, is expensive repair. I would suggest a variable refrigerant valve system with inverter driver fans and compressors, if you want long life and low maintenance, high comfort, low energy useage. That is also higher end equipment so again can't just call your regular ac guy. -
