Collin County Deerman Championship May 18/19

Collin County Bowhunters will host the 2013 Texas State T.H.E. Deerman Texas State Championship this year on May 18/19. There will be a class for you regardless of what type of set-up you shoot, so come on out and join us. It will be 30 targets, shotgun start at 10:00 both Saturday and Sunday. You only shoot one day, so you can come either of the two days. Please try to be there by 9:00 or thereabouts so that you can get registered and starting target assignments can be made.

If you have never shot a Deerman shoot, this format is really a fun shoot. It is set up and scored like actual hunting shots. The targets may be quartering in various degrees and may have some minor obstructions, and the scoring is diferent. If you hit the kill zone, you get a high score, if you hit outside the kill zone, you get a -5, a miss is a zero. It is fun and it is diferent, and the scores can get interesting, so come on out and bring the family.

Buckles will be given to the winners. Awards will be presented after the end of the day on Sunday.

For more information you can go to the Deerman website at www.the3D.org

There are onbly two trad classes. One is called the Advanced Primitive and has a 20 yard max distance. On is called the Primitive Hunter with a 10 yard Max distance for beginners. The scoring system is unique in that anything outisde the kill zone is a -5, and the targets may be quarterin as much as 60*, so it is different than most shoots. It is a really fun format. Give it a try, I think you wil like it.
