Sure seems there has been some progress with the little rocket man since Trump got elected.
I don't recall anything like this even being possible in the past

Last night I was watching all of this on Fox News. I was curious to see how the liberal news networks were spinning it, so I switched to MSNBC. It only took about 30 seconds to see that they were saying N Korea has been wanting to meet and talk for decades, but no previous president would give them that much acknowledgment. They couldn’t believe that Trump had agreed to.

Let me make sure I understand this, just a few months ago, these idiots were saying Trump was just pushing us to nuclear war, and he should try more diplomacy. Now, he has agreed to sit down and talk, and they don’t like that either. There really is no pleasing these people.

He did not cower to the bully and stood firm with our allies using harsh sanctions and the threat of retaliation and annihilation of North Korea....and this is how it should be. That is what you do to a bully. You do not send them a pallet of money and beg them to stop. If they do come to the table and denuclearize Trump deserves his due credit.

Yes and little kim agreed to come to the table without anyone giving up anything... In the past, all the other administrations were always giving up all kinds of stuff, halting sanctions, committing to pay for electrical power replacement cost, you name it BEFORE the NK's agreed to anything... Trouble is, the NK's are famous for cheating and going back on their word. NO agreement has ever worked. Maybe this one will be different... Maybe if Donald walks in the room with little kim and throat punches him and slams him in a chair with a booster seat so he can see what's comin' next, little kim will pay attention...

Only sure thing about this meeting is that Trump will walk in with a royal flush. that and rocket man will be sitting on a stack of books to make him look taller.

I'm not fully understanding why people think talking with little kim is a good positive thing.
He is a dictator. His people live in fear and famine. He assassinates his own kin. He executes his citizens and relatives like its a drinking game.
His family has literally indoctrinated the last 3 generations of his country that America is evil and must be destroyed.
He's made threat after threat towards america, its president, its allies, and test fired missiles and nuclear weapons.
What words could ever possibly be exchanged with him that would make any difference whatsoever?
Human rights organizations should be screaming from the roof tops to have him and his regime wiped out for the sake of the people there. Not praising peace talks.
Hes a criminal, a murderer, a genocide-ist, and a profiter from his own peoples misery.
I dont get it.

Systemnt, i get it. Trump wont be walking in to grovel like our last president did. Trump has a clear understanding of all the things you listed. The meeting can only be a positive in my mind.

I think the little fat man is taking a page out of Iran's book. Just agree to inspections and yada yada yada and the stupid Americans will give you one billion dollars and ease sanctions and you just keep right on building your nuclear weapons and every once in a while throw a UN inspector out and when you get caught just agree to allow inspectors into a dummy facility, granted they give you a 3 month advance notice they are coming. You know, so you can move your stuff out. Iran and North Korea are buddies.

systemnt....say it isn't so we finally disagree on something. All you mentioned is true, but the talks are very important. It is a positive step forward in disarming a crazy man that has the potential to kill hundreds of thousands of people with the weapons he is sitting on right now.

And they have a history of NEVER honoring their agreements regarding nuclear weapons.

If anyone's interested, here's the list of all the times NK hasn't complied with agreements for the past 33 years: https://www.armscontrol.org/factsheets/dprkchron

And now all of a sudden they're game to give them up? Forgive me for being skeptical.

Somewhat skeptical as well....but would be curious to know in the past 33 years if they have ever been in this much of an economic situation.

I'd prefer our POTUS to say, enough.. you threaten us? You gone.
Kill him and his regime... be over in an afternoon....give NK to SK to deal with.
China wont do ****.. NK doesnt offer them anything other than claims of communistic support.
Sends a firm message that the pussies are out of the Whitehouse, and this country wont tolerate being threatened anymore and liberates a country full of people which should please the left. (it wont...but it should)

Put a bullet in him already.

If Dennis Rodman doesnt like it.. ..hes next.

Yeah, sure, I do. It's perfect for us. A small family place, good food. Everyone minds his business. It's perfect. Pete they got an old-fashion toilet...you know, the box, and... and... and... ah the chain-thing. We might be able to tape the gun behind it.

I dont think they plan to just give them up.. I do think a man to man meeting might just clear his eyes a little. i think the fact that trump said he would destroy the little guy and then started rolling the weaponry and ships in got the little guy thinking trump meant it. i have had a couple off man to man meetings with jackwagon bullies on the past that absolutely corrected their behavior because they saw i was 6ft4 260lbs and darn sure meant it.

Did you grow up worshipped and told you were a God, and have no concept of the idea of what its like to be told no or what to do?
He did.

They had a famine in the 90s that killed hundreds of thousands (estimates also go up to the millions). Considering their small population, Id wager that was their lowest point.

They will never change. The only way any thing will change is if we look the other way long enough for NK to think they are strong and try to use a weapon..Then someone wipes them out. So lets cut the chase and get it over with.

Difference is Trump makes a deal with NK and the second they break it he will put the hurt on them. Trump isn't stupid. He won't just give them stuff up front so when they break the agreement they keep the stuff.

This whole thing stinks to me.. This situation makes me very uncomfortable..
There is just no way in hail rocket man is giving up on nukes after 25 years and billions being spent.. It just ain't gonna happen.. I cant believe anyone would believe that he is even entertaining that thought....

I'll believe the meeting happens when I see it. Fat Boy is stalling for time for something and I don't know what. One thing is for certain. He cannot be trusted under any conditions. He has serious health issues so maybe he wants free Obamacare in exchange for a couple of rockets.

Any meeting he has with Kim without getting major concessions to visibly halt their nuke program is, in fact, giving them something up front. Kim wants to be taken seriously by the world as a nuclear power, a big dog. How better to show this than a meeting as an "equal" with the President of the most powerful nation on earth? Giving that to him would be a huge blunder without first receiving concessions.

Back in the 90s, Clinton got an invite to Korea, but sent his Secretary of State instead. That trip, while embarrassing because it came to nothing and sent a message that the US would meet with murderous psychotic dictators, would have been much worse had the sitting US President gone.

If I were Trump, I'd have my underlings negotiate all the details of a full and enforceable agreement with NK before even considering meeting with Kim And then preferably have the meeting in China to sign any agreement, so they wouldn't have to deal with the optics of the same NK pageantry they had when Albright was there.

Replace this picture with Trump and Lil Kim, and tell me how that plays out in the next election if NK continues their nuke program afterwards.

I will pick Trump to come out on top of any negotiations with lil kim. There are a lot of things that could happen but I think Trump is going to tell him to his face that the old days are over.

Wise up or get wiped out...you decide.

Have y'all not read the news / paid attention to the last decade?

Yall wont even have a conversation with a neighbor that is liberal.

But you will condone our President opening fruitless dialogue with a narcissistic, communist dictator.

Makes perfect sense.

There's nothing to discuss. Ignore the tyrant. Stop feeding the troll and move on. Stop acknowledging the stupidity of what he says.

There's nothing to discuss. Ignore the tyrant. Stop feeding the troll and move on. Stop acknowledging the stupidity of what he says.
That trolls launching ICBM's over Japan that have the capability of striking the U.S. and developing even stronger, smaller atomic weapons. They've come a long way in a short period of time. Kinda hard to just ignore don't you think?

No, I dont think that is hard to ignore. How many misfires ? How many have actually done anything remotely close to what they had planned?

Do you know what would happen to NK if they launched a successful attack on any country? Empty threats mean nothing. You have one, we have a thousand. It's stupid and would be suicide for him and his entire Family.

The meetings are going to happen. What comes out of it, we will see. I have hope that the pressure put on China, will force them to put an end to NK's nuclear program and we can all move forward.

Typical...Criticize..criticize..criticize and when asked an acceptable solution...deflect deflect deflect.

I'll ask again, what would your strategy in dealing with North Korea be? Ignoring and hoping the problem goes away isn't an option.

Typical ? I gave my answer, and you even acknowledge my answer in your response.

To ignore is absolutely an option.

We have seen their testing FAIL countless more times than succeed. We cannot stop them from creating these weapons. These talks WILL DO NOTHING to curtail their continued development.
