Never thought Iíd buy a gun at Cabelaís.....however, I wanted a 20ga version of the Mossberg Silver Reserve since I like the 12ga and 410 versions I own. $249.99 and no tax later yesterday, I had my 20ga. Iíll hit the range on Friday with it. Just waiting on my last three years before I retire in TX.

I have seen these gun on consignment for about 10 months now at one of my LGS.

It started at $1099 and went down to $899. This week it dropped to $599.

It is a shooter and it has been refinished in the past and aftermarket sights have been added. I love the grips.

There is something about the 4 clicks a COLT SAA makes that gets me smiling.

I went by and tried to haggle the price down but the owner was gonna stick to $599.

10 minutes later I walked out the with it for $648.42 after taxes.

Stopped at my other LGS and brought 38-40 ammo, not cheap.

I will be going this weekend to the range to try it out.

Got a Spikes lower for cheap (<$75) and an trying to decide what to build. It'll be SBR or pistol, that I know. Now do I want a cannon or something else. Decisions, decisions...

Yeah, I'm not ral big on pistol barrels, but I figure they're most likely a lot like custom rifle barrels. Some may be a little better than others, but all of them will be significantly better than stock, and likely better than I can shoot.

I like the full size grip better myself, which is why I chose the 22 over the 23 for work, when nearly everyone else carries the midsize. That said, I don't see the benefit of the shorter barrel with the full size grip. I've got a 23, and other midsize pistols and the shorter grip is great for concealment, or even open carry when seated in a vehicle or office, but barrel length has never been an issue unless I'm trying to carry a long slide (that didn't last long). Given the choice, I'd rather have the added sight radius and short grip versus the opposite. Now, throw a red dot into the mix, and I'd take the compact, but I'd still want to work on the grip, that Glock hump just sits in the wrong spot on the compacts. Strangely enough, the subcompact, 26/27 frames aren't a problem for me, just the midsize.

I built one last summer. It was a lot of fun. I used a Swenson slide and barrel and would like to change the slide one day. Just for aesthetics, I am not wild with how it matches up to the frame but it shoots awesome. I used all Glock internal parts except I used a LW extended slide lock. I also swapped the extended mag release for standard. I'd like to also upgrade the trigger.

Gun is from 1987.

Has about a 12lb DA, but the SA is a little over 5lbs and is very crisp. I may see about modifying the DA eventually, but itís fine for now. Itís a tad bigger than an XDS, but if I appendix carry, having a hammer down is a bit more comforting. Hahaha.

Colt Frontier Scout in 22lr.

Went to the Belton Tx gun show after going to my moms in Jarrell.

This is the same show I found my mint Colt SP1 a few months back.

Very clean and if shot very little. Serial 42212K from 1969.

Very happy with the gun and deal I got. $400 out the door.

I bought my first non-easy-open Contender pistol. It's a 1972 model, and came with an octagon .45 ACP barrel and a Weaver red-dot scope. It has the wrong forend on it, and I had to do some clean-up on it after I tore it down, but I got it for a decent price.

I've been collecting / shooting Contenders for a while now, but up until this point it was all easy-open frames and G2's. I had never purchased one this old, in a non-easy-open variation. There is definitely a difference! But I'm still very happy with the purchase.

All the best,
Glenn

Finished my build with the cheap lower I got. Went with a 300blk cause I found the complete kit, minus lower for 3 bills. So with the brace, lower and kit, I'm in about $400 total for the build

I hate offers I can't refuse. This Nightmare is a 9 out of 10 cosmetically, perfect mechanically for a price I couldn't turn down. But now I'm broke seeing as I had to take advantage of SilencerCo's buy one get one free deal...
