    Traditional FSC - Week 9

Due to the limited participation, I call for a redo of the week 8 challenge. Please see week 8's thread for the info. Hopefully the weather will allow more participation this week.

I screwed up, and shot the kids bow with carbons from 12 yards, instead of 15 yards. Sorry.

    15 yards - 69# recurve with carbons = 29
    12 yards - 80# longbow with woods = 17
    12 yards - Kids longbow with carbons = 15

    61 points total
    Average = 20.33 per round.

Shot mine over lunch. Made it a little more interesting by shooting through two tree trunks and at about 17 yards. My normal shooting lane is a mud trough. Lots of room for improvement here.

Shot mine this afternoon. Just went straight through all combinations. Average =19.
            Recurve carbon, 15
            Recurve wood, 20
            Longbow carbon, 15
            Longbow wood, 25
            selfbow wood, 20
So 5 round total of 95 = 19 point average

            Here's pics:

(forgot to put bow by target for last pic, but it's the same as in longbow -- qualifies as selfbow due to all-wood construction)

I forgot to put bow by target as well. But only will shoot the one.

So, if we dont have all the combinations, we just shoot 5 rounds of 3 arrows correct?

Just for the heck of it, i shot 5 rounds with my recurve and carbon arrows. From what i gather, i might have broke the rules [emoji848] or maybe just bent them a little. Haha.
15 yards, total 71 points divide by 5 gets 14.2

Not too bad. As long as it gets you to shoot more . . .

Key of challenge points aspect is to divide whatever total you get on the 3-arrow rounds by the number of rounds shot, so that you get a scoring average per round. This way, it doesn't matter if you have all the combinations of equipment -- just shoot what you have. May be only 2 or 3 rounds. Just get an average, and that's your score for the challenge.

Dang it. I have to shoot it again?

Finally got an opportunity to shoot this.
All I have is my Howatt Cavalier recurve and carbon arrows.
Cut the 12 ring, Solid 10 and just cut the edge of the paper for a 5.
                          Total 27 points.

Thanks, I picked up the bow at a garage sale for free. It was pretty beat up so I had Lonnie Dye to restore it for me. I've got into it what it's value is. Went on Leatherwall and talked to the man that made that bow. He said it was an entry level hunter but just plain Jane in appearance. It shoots well for me.
