Kinda.... 3-6000 years old.

Archaic/Paleo are still "indians" in my mind. Cavemen predecess homo sapiens. There really isn't a definition though.

I agree with the In your mind part. We call them Indians but that may actually be referring to Europeans or even Asians. A lot of them lived in caves during archaic times too. Your last line about poor definition is about right..
