hunted unit 51 for the second archery season with my son. another great trip! had the good fortune of putting my Son on his first Bull, My friend shot a cow and i took my 4th bull in as many seasons all be it a Martian

I recently drove through that unit...from Ojo Caliente to Tres Piedras on 285. From what I saw, it looked pretty hot and dry. Was wondering if there were any elk around. Guess I know now! Well done!!

Last time I drove by there, I came across 2 road kill elk 20 yards apart. Can't imagine how that vehicle looked.

Nice bull, especially for 51! I shot a cow in there last year during first archery. I will be next door in 50 next week for my gf's rifle hunt.
