I'm a big fan of the 45-70 I have a couple of them.
My go to rifle is a replica pedersoli 1871 Remington rolling block with a heavy 30" barrel. It's a hog and deer dropper!

You get outta here. 45/70 is the creedmoor of creedmoors.

OP, why not just get a sharps rifle with a super long barrel and vernier sights for some long range shooting?

I won’t rule a Sharps out. But still would like something that holds more ammo.

I can find several options in blue. Haven't found anything in stainless with a 26" BBL though. If it will give you a starting point, maybe Marlin's UPC for the blued 26" is 026495018108

Thanks. May just have to go with one of these. Uberti doesn’t offer a SS version.

                        Nice rifle and deer.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my 1895 JM stamped 45-70. But the hogs didn’t.
