Default 2 Alberta black bears

Quick video of the (2) bears that I was able to get earlier this year in Alberta

The smaller one was 235lbs with an 18 1/8 skull and the larger one was 357lbs with an 19 7/8 skull.

Whats the spray paint on the trees for? To help judge the size of bears maybe?
