Semi-Live SW Oregon Bear Hunt - .45-70 Govt.Specialty Pistol

Less than 50 hours before I leave the driveway in Shiner, TX and begin my northward journey to SW Oregon for a Specialty Pistol hunt for black bear.

Taking my custom Remington XP-100 with 13” Hart barrel and custom cut rear grip Choate stock to go after some SW Oregon bears.

I’ll be shooting hand loaded Lehigh Defense 300 grain Match Solids at 1,860 FPS.

No baiting or dogs in OR so will be focusing on berry patches in a few year old clear cuts.
Really excited about this trip and getting away for a few days. Will be able to hunt Thurs evening, F,S, and Sun. A bear will be icing on a great cake of spending some time with friends in some of the most beautiful country on this planet!

Good luck, I have taken a few bear using carbon sticks with sharp metal points on them going a lot slower.

MOA makes it look not so bad.

I was comparing to my 6.5MB chart, and 18.5 mil wasn't even on it out to 1200 yards. 18.5 MOA gets me to about 760 yards.
