Default 12th Annual Golf Tournament Memories

What a great tournament.... The weather, the players, the donations, the location!

Thank you to all who participated and the following sponsors...
  • XENEK
  • Sniper Hog Lights
  • Ozonics
  • Doug's Optics and Outdoors
  • Cinnamon Creek Ranch
  • 60X Custom Strings

16ncs and Ragin' Blaze also donated as well as Pure Lefty.

Huge thanks go to Moritz Dealerships and Tony Gutierrez. Tony really stepped up and not only brought a car to hole #13 for the chance to win with a hole in one, he also brought an archery set up and was giving away beer to those that hit the target. What a great addition to our tournament. Tony was a lot of fun and made hole #13 a great stop.

We had some pretty strong players this year....and then some, who played solely for the beer

The winners in the Trophy Flight were:
  1. Team N Da Woods - David Johnson and Tobert Nash
  2. Team Proud Deplorables - Sean Burke and Richard Peterson
  3. Team W.T.F. - Richard Newton and Robert Newton

The winners in the Cull Flight were:
  1. Team Double Down - Paul Corwin and Jason Jacobson (This team has to move to trophy flight now )
  2. Team Last Place - Brad Slack and Butch Pine
  3. Team Thunder Chickens - att Newman and Chad Gee

Winners of the Longest Drive:
  • Matt Newman
  • Derek Dye

Winners of the Closest to the Pin:
  • Daniel Cook
  • Tom Vyles

I'll post a few pics next....sorry for the poor quality. I haven't been able to run them though photo shop.

What a great time this weekend. Thanks to Mary and everyone else that took their time to put this together for us. I met more TBH folks this weekend than I ever thought I would. All good folks, even though most are Ranger fans.

Sean was gracious enough to let me ride in a cart with him. He did ask that I shed a few lbs before the tournament next year. Im not sure but I think that may have been a reference to having to carry me for 18 holes.

Jimmie and Cody were great to have along as playing partners. Also, I have never consumed that much Fireball during a round of golf. That lead to a fair amount of trash talking. Good times.

And Paul congrats on your team win. You deserved it driving all the way in from Florida and then back to Alabama.

Had a great time at my first TBH tourney. Thanks again Mary!

Ps Rick - you may want to check on that guy you hit with a golf ball. I never thought a guy throwing a frisbee for his dog, in his yard, would be in danger. That said, you may want to do a welfare check.

I missed due to our club Mamber-Membar tournament and my partner had to back out due to family health issues late Friday night. The club found me a substitute partner but we didn't do too well. The tournament paid 3 places and we finished 4th of course.

I hope to be back next year.

I hate that I missed again this year, it seems like there is always a baseball game, which really conflicts with my Golf Schedule!!!

Looks like it was a GREAT time, as usual. I am going to try my best to make the 13th Annual Tourney...

We are gonna have to travel next year if the TBH Open changes venues.

Thanks Mary for all you did, even if you did give us a trophy and then crushed our spirits by taking it back! The hat was a nice consolation

That was my first thought when I saw it. Second thought was, "your name is on the front of it too"

I did not stop to see whose name it was though.

It hurt just a little? To be young again!

I did hear someone talking about this place in San Antonio.

http://www.lacanteragolfclub.com/index.php

It is another Arnold Palmer design and only about 800 miles for me. If I go through Houston I can pick up a load of hammocks from Black Ice and Ragin Blaze from CB for door prizes. Then on the way, I can swing by Sugar Blossom, Tx and let RTP follow me to the correct tournament hotel.

Great job by all the folks involved with setting up the tournament.

It was great to meet some new people and seeing some old friends.

I saw the golf cart at Flips and thought to myself. Hey they got the club Pro to come over for a visit and have a beer and with us. That's kewl

Already practicing for next year's event.

What was the story on the golf cart at Flips?

Looking at the aerial I thought this was a golf cart community. It's an easy driver and two fireballs from 18 to Flip's via Pebble Beach Way

Team Double Down was -8 in the Cull. I made just about every putt I looked at and Jason hit every green. Some with a driver, I mean 3 wood.

Trophy Flight was -8, -6, -6. Unlike Mr Alabama, we left a bunch of putts out there as did our playing partners. Drive for show, putt for dough as the saying goes. Im going to have to work on that this next year. At the age of 54, Im sure that wont be a problem.
