I rarely kill snakes, but........

this one almost bit my dog and me both last night while searching for a missing person. Dog's reaction (3-4 foot vertical jump when it struck) prompted me to turn on my flashlight and see that my next step would have been on the snake. After 20 years I've never seen a venomous snake in the city limits, so this one really surprised me.

Going to try to make a collar band for the dog with it.

I have killed 4 copper heads in the last week. This has been the worst summer I have ever seen for snakes.

we just moved north of aledo to some property, got there in December, and have already dispatched 9 copperheads so far! both dogs have already had interactions with copperheads, luckily no strikes towards humans yet. stay safe!
