How Can I keep Coons & Squirrels Off My Feeder???

How can I cheaply protect this feeder from coons and squirrels? Looking for a cheap alternative. I thought about wrapping with barb wire around the legs. I am low budget and bought the feeder I could afford so, I cannot buy another one right now but later I will replace with a barrel feeder. Looking for alternatives to save this feeder. Thanks.

Wrap it in 1/2" mesh. Better get that hole patched up

Get a metal feeder. Squirrels will destroy that plastic feeder.

The mesh is a goo idea. Also, lumber mending plates with the nails facing up work well. Try to find to longest mending plates you can.

Here's an example of some small plates at Lowe's:

I grease the legs on mine. Little messy but worth it.

Slide the legs down inside pvc. It's slick and they can't climb on it. Make sure pvc is big enough in circumference that they can't wrap legs around it and climb it. Weird looking but it works.

I had coons tear off the motor/timer on my feeder like that but dont have problems with squirrels.I'll have to try the pvc trick.
