Been having some odd health issues in recent months. Internal medicine doctor ran some lyme test and a couple markers came back positive. She seemed to think I might have been exposed in the past, put me on an antibiotic that she said would make a third marker pop out in a month if there were more to it. I really hate to wait another month to do more testing. I know finding Lyme can be very complex and having the right doctor makes all the difference. Any recommendations for the best in TX?

I don’t know of a doctor but know it is very serious. My grandfather got it in the late 80’s and it ran him down hill quick. We almost lost him to it until the doctor listened to him and tested for it. He said picked it up in Colorado. He came back from it but it was about a 6 month journey. Get help fast. Good luck

My wife is going through it right now and has been fighting it for two years. It has been an uphill climb and she feels better but it is still showing the m band. The Dr she is seeing is Dr. Salvato in Houston you can google her and it will bring her up. I hope you get it under control quickly.

Thanks for the info. I'm seeing Dr Salvato in Houston. I really like her but didn't know if there was someone more known specifically for Lyme. Not being able to reach someone in the office by phone or email drives me crazy too. When you walk out of the office, there is no way to communicate until the next appointment. She mentioned Igenix testing that's not covered by insurance but supposedly better testing. Now I have to wait a month to discuss it.

Most of the your doctors can have you tested for Lyme disease. I got it back in the early 90's and several doctors claimed everything from early onset arthritis and possible flu. I knew I had an issue because I had pulled the tick off and 14 days later give or take, my bulls eye and rash appeared. Being a biologist working in the hunting industry i was able to push forward with testing. Been lucky over the years since, joint ache flare ups but not much else. It makes you wonder all the farmer and ranchers over the years diagnosed with arthritis. Sorry for too much info.

There was a guy on here dealing with it for a family member and I believe highly recommend someone in the hill country.
San Angelo area I think?

Your post came up in my newsfeed and thought I'd drop by to share some information. If you are looking for Lyme treating doctors you can try this site. It also has a page for alternative doctors and resources that might be helpful. Feel better soon!
Edit- well, it took two days to try to register and l have been trying to post this simple message for you. Looks like I am foiled again by the administrators? Now being told I can't post a link till I have 5 posts of my own. So.. if you can figure out this link that's great. If not, so sorry!
