Tamron 150-600 on a 7D body. Same setup I've used for a little while now. That lens lives on that body, just for shots like these. I was happily on my way to the office that morning, and at the last second, this guy jumped up from the edge of the road to the top of that post. I was able to stop, unzip my camera case and put the lens to use in about 10 seconds. Thankfully he was more interested in calling for females than the white car that just stopped next to him. It's tough to get this close without them flying.
Morning light was pretty perfect.
I always travel with camera in reach for shots just like this.
relatively new to TBH - do any of you guys that take these awesome pics sell copies if someone would want to buy one?
I'm sure some would. I don't sell my photos. At least, I never really have. If a friend or family wants one, they get it for free. If a magazine or brochure or other useful publication wants it, they do as well. If I think someone is trying to make a buck off my photo, that's a different story, but so far I've not had that problem.
If you view my Flickr feed and see something you'd like to use for your own personal use, send me a PM.
