We had a good weekend bowhunting at the Hogboy Hilton. Benben and I were both able to get a buck on the ground. Txnrunner's dad, Rick, arrowed a doe from the barn blind and went home with meat also.
I had spined my buck, so when I got down to put another arrow in him, he took off dragging, hopping on his back legs. I saw where he laid down so went back to the the house to give him some time. An hour later, still alive, we jumped him up again and lost him in the thick stuff.
After finding blood again, that I was able to put Bella on, she headed down the trail. A minute later she's barking like crazy, the buck crashes through the thicket, hit's a clearing, and expires right there, with Bella on him. Proud dad moment.
