I have had my gun safe in the garage for 4 years and I have had no issues yet. I do have it bolted to the floor and blocked from street view with a beer fridge.

My safe has a plug panel inside. The cord is out the back. I think it is 4 or 6 plug panel.

Should be no issue having it in the garage as long as you use the rod heater.

Depends on the safe some of the cheap ones don't have a hole for a cord. All of the high end safes are usually wired with a plug panel in them.

I have the golden rod and also use volatile corrosion inhibitors. They basically put out a gas that sticks to the metal of your gun and prevents it from rusting. I use these ones.
