Based on past years, my guess is the 28th or 31st.

Brad will probably send an email out at the beginning of the year.

Do you have to shoot a doe before you can kill a buck? That one posted on the previous page looking in the blind is a dang nice deer for out there.

Yes, a mature doe. In past years they had allowed a spike as well but they changed it this year due to a reduced about of buck tags

I’m still having trouble figuring out the maturity of these does in Texas I’m an Ohio farm boy and there is a huge difference between a yearling and 1 1/2 year old. But I’m gonna hold out for another buck the rest of the year I think. Then again we will see how patient I can be.

I grew up in PA so I feel your pain. For me it's been the face that is the easiest way to tell.

The older does here have long skinny faces, youngsters have short angled faces.

I actually was born and lived in PA till I was 13, whatís funny is when we say PA we hear or read the letters individually as P and than A Iím not sure everyone else hears or sees it that way.

But yeah it sure is a learning curve.

Deer are moving late morning...Had about 3-4 golden ticket does come in at 10:30, then a 4 point chased them off and another nubbin buck came in at 11:40. Had a meeting at 1:00 so let them walk today. Good to finally see movement.

It's been an epic year with 6 animals going to taxidermist. I decided to head out at lunch today and pull my blind, camera, and feeder and bring season to an end. Turkey season will be here before we know it.

Just driving home after quick sit. Had a 8 point come into a couple of practice grunts. The wind was up which made for skittish deer. Let him walk as he will be great in a couple years. Nice to get out. Note to self....don’t leave a bag of corn in the ground blind.
Looks like a coon had himself a party. Haha
