So I wasn't exactly out for a Black Buck but...

I wish I had a really cool story about stalking this beautiful creature, but umm I took a little tripsy to Whiskey Hollow Ranch this weekend, made my best friend drive 2 and a half hours with me (she doesn't hunt but was along for the joy ride). We got there and the second we got out on the ranch, this guy came galloping by. He took off when he saw us, but we found him again and he stared at me just a little too long...pew pew. So basically I shot within 180 seconds of setting foot on the ranch. It was the shortest, but one of the most exciting hunts I've had, SUPER FAST PACED...plus he's beautiful. Dropped him off at Bellville Meat Market and took the head to David Majors at Majors Creations. Hope some of you also had some good luck this weekend!

I shot it with my 270. It's actually the rife my grandfather gave me a few years ago, and he never got to actually shoot anything with it. He's not doing very well so I'm making sure I get good use out of it for him! It's been mostly a pig rifle though... they're a little cheaper
