In for updates. Mike is tough, so whatever it is, he'll put a whuppin' on it. In the meanwhile prayer for healing for Mike and comfort for his family.

Lord we ask You to take care or our brother Mike. We ask for healing by Your divine touch. Lord, guide all his care-givers to this healing with the proper treatments. Give Mike the strength and drive to overcome whatever his affliction it. Give his family the hope that is in Your promises Lord. Comfort Mike, his family and friends and demonstrate Your power through him. In the powerful healing name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen..

Definitely possible...
According to the Mayo clinic, "Although uncommon in the general population, ischemic colitis occurs with greater frequency in the elderly."
