The Ft Worth location reopens tomorrow under the name "Gander Outdoors." As you may know, the company was purchased out of bankruptcy by Camping World/Good Sam Enterprises. From what I read, four stores will reopen in Texas. The Ft Worth store is in a good location, I just wonder how the business model will change to make them successful and competitive against Academy and Bass Pro/Cabela's.

They probably have lots of "gander" merchandise left over that needs selling. They put their logo on everything and sold very little of other brands.
Even during their closeout sales, they couldnt give away all that "gander" stuff.
Re-open. Bump everything back to full price, and people will buy it again.

I doubt I'll find a reason to visit.
In hindsight, maybe it was their ridiculously high prices on certain items.Last edited by Worksalot; 05-11-2018, 10:04 AM.
