    Elevated, again!

Let me start this off by saying...... I hate ground blinds! (except for bowhunting trky).

After an accident with major back injuries, I figured/was scared that I was destined to hunt from groundblinds from now on (and possibly with an xbow). That's what I've done pretty much since 2014, although I did manage a hog with a compound last year (outta a groundblind).

But now I'm hunting gametamer type ladder stands. I'm actually sitting in a game tamer now, hog hunting. I just put a cheap lean-to up to it instead of climbing sticks. I can slowly manage the ascent if maintaining 3-4 pt contacts.

Whacked a doe outta a home made lean-to up in OK yest.

Congrats on the doe. I have been thinking about trying tree stands again, been in ground blinds for the past 10-12 years. I always felt like I saw more deer while in a ground blind and had more freedom to move around. But I see lots of tree hunters on here with big deer.

Be very careful and use fall protection system.

I hear you on hatin popups

I nearly roast and I can't see as much out of them

Once it gets cold I can manage/tolerate them

Congrats on the doe brother!! Freezer fillin is fun!!

I too have always prefered elevated to ground blinds. Just don't seem natural sittin in an Apache sweat lodge in Texas in October... But I did sit in my Krivo blind opening morning. That feeder had the best pics and with the wind it was my only setup that would work. I now have another ladder stand set up for a different wind. OT killed me finishing up on my new lease this summer...

Think I'm gonna hunt oaks for a few and see what happens.

Good luck this season and glad your gettin better
