    Alazon Bayou WMA

Anyone have any info that they would like to share about this WMA? Looking at going on bow hunt there when they open it back up to public. Seems fairly small and maybe not used much. Thanks for any info.

It's a nice place. It has to large ridges on it. Saw a very nice 8 pt a couple years ago on it. Hogs all over the place.

yes a great place to hunt. well maintained campgrounds, easy access to lodging(within 10 minutes of wma). lots of hogs. you can bait hogs after the last day of duck season and hunt them year round with shotgun. you should go check it out. too bad its a drive and a half for me.

And if you hunt there at the first of bow season. Bring lots of skeeter spray. They are bad.. It will be fine right now.

Thanks for the info. We were down there last weekend for the youth hunt. The blinds were pre-set for the kiddo's so didn't get to look around any. Pretty warm and not very much movement. The young man that I took did manage to take a nice mature doe Sunday evening about 5. The guys running the place are really great and are to be commended for they ran the hunt. They treated the kids like kings and queens.

What are the guidelines for hunting hogs after deer season. Do you have to have a special permit?
