    Rut activity observed in ETX

Last three days I have been sitting on back porch in the evenings in SW Hardin county watching 2 mature bucks dogging a doe in my pasture. Early as I have ever witnessed. This morning while drinking my coffee I hear a buck grunting as loud as he could it seemed. My wife asked was was that and I said a buck grunting. Bout that time a doe popped out and not far behind here he came. They chased for a while then moved back to the woods. Its that time off year again ... we’ll a bit earlier than normal.Good Luck this season.

Bummer for you...You missed out getting the first 2018 TBH Rutting Activity Post award by one day. Should have spoke up sooner.

We didn't count the guy who said he saw some in late July...but Backwoods101 got the win!

Our deer usually rut in August right before they rub one out

Bucks are always a couple weeks ahead of the does.

Climate change has them rutting earlier than typical.
