Default SPAMMER calls are getting more sneaky.

Theyíre getting worse and worse. Now instead of spammers calling from a unavailable number theyíre calling from a familiar area code. I get 2-5 spam calls a day. Wish we could pass a law or something to make it stop. Ridiculous.

I answered this one and it ended up wanting to sell me home security system.

I downloaded an app called call protect (for ATT). It has helped quite a bit so if you are on AT&T it might be worth a try.

I get 3-5 calls every day from numbers with the same first 6 digits as mine. Only the last 4 are different. Makes them easy to recognize and ignore.

I'm not at all knowledgeable on the topic but I heard a guy talk about it on the radio. Apparently there are number generating sites that these guys use. They type in the number that they are going to call and it generates a similar number (appearing to be a local call) from which it appears their call is coming from... if that makes sense. I've got a few calls from numbers with 9 of 10 digits the same. Finally got one from my exact number. "Tim Longoria calling" Pretty sneaky. If only they'd use their powers for good ...

I get calls from cities all around me just about every day, I hope my own number calls me someday, that would be hilarious.

I started answering these calls just to waste their time. As soon as they start talking, I interrupt them and start telling them about how my hunting season is going. After I get done with hunting season, if they haven't hung up I will start talking about the fish I've been catching. Most of the time I don't get to make it to the fish tales.

The numbers are generated from calls and internet searches you make from your phone; there really is no privacy anymore. Ads on Google and social media sites use the same system to target their demographic.

I wish there was an app for a redirect when these spammers call. Redirect them to another spammer so they can have a conversation with each other.

The latest for me is no caller ID. I get 3 a day from no caller ID.

I pay for Nomorobo and it has drastically cut down on calls.

Do you know if it will block call calls from actual people? For example, I get calls from customers all over the country on a daily basis. Would hate to download this app and then my customers get blocked lol.

Thatís part of what gets me every time too. Iím so used to out of state calls that when I see an unrecognized number, I answer it thinking itís someone in the field. About 75% of the time itís a scammer, but sure enough when I decide to ignor one, itís a customer calling. Never fails.

I get a lot of pre recorded calls but if you press 0 or 1 it will take you direct to a person and it's usually a Indian guy. I give him a good cussin and then hang up on him. It's kind of fun!

This is me, if i have time ill answer and just mess with them for awhile. I can usually tell within the first couple of minutes how long i can string them along for.
I get a kick out of some of them who get so mad they start cussing in totally random words and sentences that make no sense at all.

I use an app called 10-21.
I have to use my phone to call people on duty and it generated a number with their area code. It allows them to call me back. It keeps my number private.

But I do get spam calls

This is happening alot. I end up on call for work and they give my personal cell so if I get a missed call I can't catch I have to call back...one poor ladies local number has called me 3 times and she had no idea why I was calling her back. It was a telemarketer when I finally answered it.

I've gotten to the point if I don't know the number, I don't take the call. Had some complain to me today, and I pointed out they didn't leave a voicemail.

Going to try the Protect app out.

So far so good. I get calls from clients as well on my cell phone and it hasnít blocked them. You might give it a try and see if it helps. I was getting 5+ BS calls a day now I get 1 every few days and it tells you itís a telemarketer.

I answer almost every one of them unless I'm busy. I listen quietly to their BS, then in my best Jack Nicholson voice I ask them "Are you neked" all but one has hung up. That lady said well no, and just kept on talking. I had to hang up laughing

I love it when they call asking for ďDonnaĒ and then proceed to try to just roll into their sales job. I learned last year to immediately say that ďDonnaĒ died last month and her assets were equally distributed to the fraternal order of police and other assorted charities....have yet to have one do anything but hang up.
