I didn't do a write up on this buck when I killed him. But here is a short story of buck. I killed this buck the day after Thanksgiving. The property I killed him on is 88 acres that I own in Hopkins county. I'd gotten pics of the buck in early September but I'd had my sights set on another buck at another property. All through season I'd get pics of him but didn't put a lot into hunting this property. Well fast forward through the season and Thanksgiving doe days was in full swing. I had a lot of does on cameras and the wind was perfect for my stand. Off I went in full search of the first mature doe within range. The very first deer I see is this buck about 300yds out. I get to watch him as he takes his sweet time all the way into 14yds. As I'm watching him come in I notice that he is way wider than I had expected. From previous trailcam pics I noticed he had a lot of electric fence wire in his rack. I guess he got his rack tangled up in a rancher's electric fence. Thank goodness he got out of it! As the buck is 14yds I think this buck is a lot better than I'd expected and I'd be proud to put my tag on him. As fast as I could get the bowtech drawn I settled the pin and touched the release. The rest is history!
