New to the bow but I've got it down to a 3 inch spread so I'm aiming for the lungs. Can't run with holes in both lungs

Center lungs you miss a little any direction you’re good. Heart is pretty close to some major bone contact

X2. I aim for the aorta, it gets the lungs also but lets the heart push the blood out. Most of my recoveries with this shot are under 30 yards, furthest was a zebra that made it about 70.

Middle lungs is the safest in my opinion but I know the heart shot is the most lethal but if you miss it three out of 4 directions it can lead to a clean miss a shoulder hit are low gut shot ..

Depends on how far the shot is. If I’m shooting 16 yds and closer, I am just above the heart for the lungs. Anything further, I am for the heart because I know the deer will drop at least a little before the arrow gets there.

Exactly this for me.

So many times I think those that aim for center lungs get backstrap if the deer ducks the shot a bit.
