Ruger American or Savage 10 FCP SR?

Savage looks to be about $200 more but has oversize bolt knob, detachable magazine and less complaints about factory stock from what I have read
What says the GS?

Both are great guns. But the savage is definitely worth the extra. Your getting an aluminum bedded stock and a well worth heavier barrel.

Those two are not easy to compare imo, light weight deer rifle vs. heavier barreled semi tactical rifle.

Can't go wrong with either one imo. Have a savage myself and love it. Does what I want it to.

Savage - Never had one until I bought my 6.5. Shoots lights out! I rarely pull another gun out now...

Most likely to pop pigs around my place, possibly shooting targets out to at least 500 and just because
May just wait and try and catch another rebate from Savage, I am in no hurry to buy

That’s what I would do...this savage should be a good set up for what you’re looking to do and you know with holidays coming up savage will be putting out rebates soon!
