Shot my first deer with a bow Saturday evening at my brother-in-law's place up by Mertzon. I had a couple nice Javelina in bow range after getting out of the blind Sunday morning but decided to let them walk. I ran into them the morning before while walking down the main road and shot right over the back of one twice... just a little off on my judgement of distance at the time 
but I made an almost perfect shot on the doe at 20 yards. It knocked her over at first then she stumbled about 20 yards and dropped for good. 
All I can say is that it's going to be hard to pick up the boom stick anytime soon... this was by far my most fun hunt/kill.
