Crappie withdrawals

I saw a few in about a foot of water yesterday while bass fishing. Also saw 68.5 degree water in the back of a creek on the south end of Palestine. I was real surprised to see water that warm.

I crappie fished for a little bit, didn’t get a bite and broke the tip off of my new Bonehead Tackle rod!

The article I read on WFAA didn't say how but that it was a 40 year old female.

Yesterday was very slow for me. Crappie weren't where I usually find them. Didn't get a single bite. And the whites were scattered. Did catch some whites trolling. But there were a lot of dinks. Water temp was 62 when I started. Watched it climb to 69 before the day was over.

It was from a tree falling on a tent from what i gathered. There were several tents leveled by trees this morning. Firemen and other LEO going from site to site looking for people.
Those guys cut their way in from the main road through several huge trees last night during the storm to help the ones that needed and check on us that were ok.
I was soaked with no shoes or light. Scary helpless feeling!

Was going to take my daughter out this morning and try our luck. Woke up to 30-40mph gusts and told her to just go back to bed!
Maybe one evening this week I'll be able to give them another try. Haven't caught one yet.
