So I went deer hunting this morning.....

And this happened:





Right after daylight I caught movement to my right. I looked and for a second I thought (like a dummy) well that's the biggest bodied deer I've ever saw. Then it dawned on me it wasn't a deer. He was only about 75 yards from me. So I shot him with my 257 Weatherby mag (I know....its not a bow). He only went about ten yards and piled up. Low fence. Mason county.

I know the pictures aren't the greatest. I was excited and didn't really think about pictures until after the fact.

I've been on this lease for a few years. First one we've ever saw.

We do see an axis deer every once in awhile. Like once or twice a year.

I just quarted it out like you would an elk in the backcountry. It was in a spot I couldn't get my truck to and it was to much for me to drag out and load by myself. I'm just gonna euro mount it.
