Going rate for Dozer work ???

    N TX.
Was quoted $175 hr for under-brush type tree clearing on 5 a.c. D6 dozer. Sounds a bit high but the guy is already working on the neighbors place right next door.

Might be hard to get someout else out here for a small 1-2 day job.

Just wondered what the norm Is?

    Thanks.

        Shouldn't take long on 5acres.

If that includes fuel and he knows what he is going then sounds fair to me.

                I have a d5 and I charge $95 an hour. I just finished
7.25 acres of solid brush. It's all piled up and took 37 hours.

This property is over 50% open. Mainly scrub brush under about 8-10 pecan trees.

since he is next door try to see if he could do a little better on the hour
rate if he doesn't have another pressing job you might get a better price
Also consider that a lot of the dozer guys charge a fee for transporting the equipment to your place and that's added to the total cost

A few years ago I paid $150/hr for D6, but had more acreage. You're right though. He is already there. Usually, there is a mobilization charge for hauling the machine out there. If he is good I would pay it.

I used to think these prices were high until I started looking at equipment. Now I wonder how these guys make money lol
