Compare the 2 Scopes

Trying to decide between the 2.
Picking up rifle from APR this weekend. Have done quite a bit of research here but It's down to nut cutting time
Is it worth it to spend 430$ more on the 5HD? Be honest! Thanks for all the info.

I can't contribute on the VX5 but I do have a VX3 4.5-14 x 40mm. I used to have that same scope in a 50mm. I do not miss the 50mm, IMO the 4.5-14x40 is the perfect hunting scope in regards to light weight and clarity. Plus since you can get by with lower rings allowing for better eye alignment.

The VX3i is pretty good for the price but the HD5 is noticeably better.

You're putting this on a custom rifle. Get the best you can afford. Pay once cry once. I wish I could have learned tbis many years ago.

They're both good but I'd go with the vx5.

Don’t think you’d be disappointed with either but a custom rifle deserves best. Optics planet has it for about $100 less

I own the VX5HD and it is the better option in my opinion. You can get the windplex in the 5HD if you prefer that reticle.
