    Do what you will with the corn. But get the protein back out to help them get past wearing themselves out during the rut and start priming them up for the springtime. Also consider planting a good springtime food plot or two

      Why turn it off the one time of year it can actually help them? There is less for them to naturally feed on in the winter months and corn is full of carbs which they desperately need after rutting for the past month or so.

          I usually drop down to two feedings a day at 4 seconds.

            Keep it running. You never know what may show up and start being a regular.

            I'll keep 7 feeders going all year. Cost about $140/month

              Deer do not need a feeder during winter. Mother nature provides plenty.
              Now if we were talking Michigan maybe

                          Keep 2 running on 54ac yearound

                          Killing something by a feeder is secondary purpose

                          Maintaining my ag valuation for property taxes is primary

                          I think the deer here have plenty to eat that is better for them than corn. Had someone tell me corn was like potato chips for deer
                          Picked up a protein feeder and plan on putting it out after 1st of year

                            I like to keep one going just so if I get the urge to shoot a pig.

                              How does a corn feeder maintain your ag exempt status?

                                Because wildlife is a sub category of ag

                                There are 7 things of which you have to do at least 3 to maintain

                                (i) habitat control;
                                (ii) erosion control;
                                (iii) predator control;
                                (iv) providing supplemental supplies of water;
                                (v) providing supplemental supplies of food;
                                (vi) providing shelters; and
                                (vii) making of census counts to determine population;
