Default East Texas divorce attorney for a man?

Anyone have any recommendations? Want it to be peaceful but would at least like a little lube before I bend over.

Your title and lube comment are very poorly worded.

Or maybe they aren’t. I hope they are though haha

Best of luck, and has been said, unfortunately you are not alone. There’s a lot of resources available. Keep your head up and stay out of the nonsense.

I am no help on Lawyers or anything related to the divorce process just ask my ex wife and her lawyer they took everything that wasn’t nailed down. I went in thinking this was going to be simple nice and clean divorce until I showed up and my lawyer was consuming oxygen that day but that was about it.

Its emotionally breaking. That said, Mine went easy otherwise. We weren't fighting over anything and had no kids. Our cars were in our name. The house was in my name, though we bought when married. She signed over her part, as she was moving. We didn't hire lawyers, filled our own paperwork. I do not think mine was like most.

I can't help with the lawyer or advice about divorce, but sorry to read you are going through it. Best of luck for a smooth resolution. Seems lots of guys on here have been through this, so don't be afraid to vent.

Look here: http://aaml.org/find-a-lawyer. You can search by state and county. Be very wary of attorneys who advertise heavily. They either aren't very good, charge inflated fees to pay for the advertising, or both.

A lawyer tells you what you want to hear, until you run out of money. Then you get the truth. There’s no incentive for them to handle these things quickly. They milk the hours they can charge.

Yep, they encourage a fight, because that means more of yalls money ends up in their pocket.

I think, for many, its the last chance to really get back at the soon-to-be ex and the lawyers are the only ones that benefit in the end. I have been lucky so far.

( not saying thats your situation )

I have a lawyer friend that practices in other areas of law and he hates divorce lawyers with a passion. Like said above He says itís rare to find one that is truly on your side and not out to run up both your bills with endless motions and discovery requests. Thatís why they always demand that the couple donít talk to each other. Cooler heads might accidentally prevail and their gravy train will end. I hope you find the exception and I truly hope there is some slight glimmer of hope for your marriage. I know thatís unlikely but open your heart to the possibility. Iíll be praying for your either way.

Prayers sent.... it can be very emotionally draining especially if there are kids involved and itís only truly wanted by one side.

No help on a lawyer in E.Tx,but I'll say its the best money I ever spent.A friend of mine told me once, the reason divorces are so expensive is because they're worth it!😂

You want a bulldog attorney or a nice guy attorney? I can refer you to both in Longview, but you may have to buy my lunch.
