Default Post up your favorite caliber/ammo for killing trapped hogs and why!

Like the title said; post up your favorite caliber and ammo used for killing hogs in a trap. Please explain why.
Iím still undecided. I have recently used my .45 Springfield XDS. Iíve used both Critical Defense and target rounds.

A .22 mag in the back of the head is my choice. Drops even the biggest ones and doesn't tear up the little ones.

.22 revolver works well for me. I shoot them in the temple between the eye and ear. Killed hundreds of them that way.

CCI .22 LR quiet rounds. Reduced velocity.

Keeps from shooting a hole in the trailer.

.22 or .22 mag pistola. Easy to carry, quieter to shoot, effective. Hogs tend to keep moving in a trap when you stand there so if you have a bad shot it is less likely to damage your trap or make a bloody mess.

22 LR to the brain. ear, b/w eyes, or back of head. No need for more, just pick your shots.

I've used 22 revolvers , but tougher in larger coral traps when they start pacing and jumping. Fine for smaller box traps.

We use a Mossberg 464 levergun in 22lr with a Gemtech Outback can. Aiming between the eyes if they are looking at you or in the ear from the side. Standard 22's do the job if you do yours. My avatar an example.

Exactly how I taught Lola shot placement. I ain’t saying it was pretty or would video it but, it bridged a language gap

When I say shoulder and shot knee on purpose... we had an anatomy lesson (5yo). Now you say kill it, and it’s bout to get killt

Think I'll start using a .22. I've always grabbed the old saiga .223 cause it was handy and figured it would take out anything that might be hanging around.

Small ones get throwed tied and stuck, the big ones get a 22 to the earhole. Real big boars get turned out to hopefully shoot later.

I like to shoot them with 22 shorts.. the bullet stays in their head and doesn't bloody any meat.. the trap we use is 20 ft round so they all back up and face you .. it's hard to get a side of the head shot on the pig..

Revolver for the cage-type traps, Remington Nylon 66 autoloader for the larger pen traps, with a 12-ga backup for any runners that squeeze out.
