I have the QAD Hunter. Great rest, but even with deepest cradle Im still touching the top of the rest with my fletching. I clocked my knock a few degrees, but Im not sure this is the correct action for best results...Any other ideas??

You should not be getting fletching contact at all. With this rest, your arrow should be darn near perpendicular to the string at rest...no 1/8 inch high. I have set up a ton of these rests and bareshafted a bunch and this is correct. I will bet you nock point is high. And, the launcher should come to full capture in the last inch of draw...I prefer the last 1-1.5 inches myself but do not get it tighter than that. Cheers!

I know a very easy fix. As I've went thru the QAD and the Ripcord. The fix is made my Vapor Trail. Not bein a smart *** now. But it's what I did...

The launcher is coming to full capture at the last 1", but nock being to high is a good possibility, Ill check that...1/8" above square if I understand you correct...
-Vapor trail looks cool..heck a lot of them do..Id buy each one and shoot it....if they were FREE...Its a little had to drop a few hundred to find "the right one"... But really does look like a good design..

There's a reason why the QAD is so popular.....set it up right and it'll work just fine. I've had several QAD HDX's and have never had a failure.

I agree Daniel but I really think most problems with the QAD is the lesser models like the HD LD Hunter, I have never have seen issues with the HDX personally, I had the HD and switched the Pro V.

No need to, if it ain't broke, why fix it? The HDX has the anti-bounce back feature, I think that eliminates a lot of the problems some people have had. I wouldn't be opposed to trying a limb driven rest and the Pro V has a loyal following for sure. From what I hear, the Pro V has it beat in the noise department and that's my one gripe with it, the HDX can be loud from slapping the riser shelf with the arm when it falls. The one on my HeliM is super quiet and has between 1/8"-1/4" of space, with no danger of slapping it and making a sound.

I've asked some well respected tuners and they all endorse the HDX for a strictly hunting rest. Full capture, no bounce back and easy to setup.

I have 5 Limbdriver Pro's just sitting on my bench and while I think they are great accurate rest, They are too loud for my liking in a hunting situation. Haven't tried the V though......Who wants a Pro for $50 each TYD.

I have brother. It's a nice rest but I greatly prefer the HDX for hunting. Target. I would shoot a LD Pro (well really the micro Elite) without a doubt, just not my choice for a hunting rest.

My Limbdriven choice for hunting would be a TT Smackdown Pro. By far the quietest rest I have messed with.

I see not everyone has messed with a Pro V. So here is why I shoot over the others mentioned.

No timing

Stupid Easy Set Up

About 300 degrees of full capture.

Supports the arrow longer during the shot

Can actually be set up to shoot w/o the cord, helps to know that if you get in a bind.

Also for some odd reason you damaged the cord on a back mountain hunt and you didn't set it up to be shot without a cord, you can use a boot lace and there will be no tuning to consider. You can't do that with a QAD or A Rip Cord.
And I have a Biscuit set up ready to go as a back up should the QAD ever fail. Haven't had that issue yet and I hunt across the country as well. I have no experience with the Pro V. If they weren't so expensive to buy I would probably experiment more. Who knows? You heed the advice of knowledgeable people though. I will keep that one in mind.

I'm thinking... the heck with the drop away rest and the "proper" setting up that has to be done as well as the tuning to be sure there is not any fletching contact.

How much FPS is lost by using a whisker biscuit? Sure is a simple design. No cords to break on the other side of a mountain...

I currently have a Trophy taker, but am considering putting on a WB like my son has on his set up.

Trophy ridge smack down. I will be switching to it from my rip cord. Wife got one and I like the containment better. Other than that they both work great.

I will say it again, and I have been shooting and bowhunting for over 40 years and never need "containment" on a rest. To me that is unnecessary interference on a rest. Just my opinion.

I got that rest and new React 1 dialed in out to 80 this morning. Everything is working great. Like the rest and this sight is the easiest to set up, sight in and shoot I have ever seen. the only thing that will possibly get me is not remembering to move the pin for different yardages. It has been over 15 years since I shot a single pin and that was a scope in the open class of 3D tourneys.

I love my LD pro v. It takes all the hassle out of timing your drop. My only beef with it is that you cannot run the activation cord to the bottom limb, which interferes with my TR react 1 yardages
