How many books do you read a year?

I read two stats the other day that, if true, are really shocking.

    - 42% of adults haven’t read a book (cover-to-cover) since college
    - 80% of households didn’t buy or read a book last year

So, on average, how many books do you read a year? (Audio books count)

I would have thought it was more then this. I have not read a book since I was in the military. That was in 91 when I got out.

Not that I don’t read. But it’s just for information on a subject or teaching information. But just to set down a read no.

This is a common thing into days times. Sad isn’t it

For the last few months, not much. Maybe a book per month. I've been busy with other stuff.

Normally, I consume a book per week. Mostly history books, but there is some fiction in there as well.

I average about 1 per week, so about 50 per year.

Honestly haven’t read but 1 book in the last 4-5 years that I can think of so I fit in both stats above.

Would like to get that number up though

3-4 a month typically, if audio books count then 9-10 a month. I’m on the road a lot

Probably about 6-8 per year. Would like to read more, but seem too busy a lot of the time to fit it in. I am trying to read more consistently now and would like to possibly double my reading amount. I am re-reading the book Education of a Wandering Man by Louis L'mour which is a biography on himself growing up and all the travels and stuff he did. Excellent read. He was a voracious reader and estimated that he was reading on average 100-120 books a year for most of his life.....

I would say 2-3 per month for the last 4 1/2 years. A 45 minute bus ride to and from work gives me plenty of reading time. Before that it was probably 7-8 a year since getting out of college 30 years ago.
