I would put one. Then also keep out a protein block under it in case your protein feeder runs out. I also would put out a mineral block. I even pour out a bag of molasses soaked sweet feed every now and then as a treat or mix in a little with the pellets. I will pour rack up minerals from academy over the pellets to boost minerals also (when i find it on sale). To save money we feed 14 percent /horsecow feed pellets and save 2-3 bucks a bag. Just fyi
