Sighting longer yardages on a short range

Is there a good rule of thumb for sighting in 30, 40, and 50 yard pins on a 20 yard range?

For example: 2 inches high at 20 is dead on at 30 and 4 inches high is dead on at 40

There is a % increase you can use but I'm drawing a blank on the number

There is but I can't find it. I maybe wrong, but I think they only get you close and not dead on.

You likely won’t ever get it just right. Just too many mathematical variables for the layperson to figure out.

Looking for "hit the target" accuracy so that when I push it out to the exact yardage it will be close.

              7 yards=20 yards
              5 yards=30 yards
              4 yards=40 yards

                Am I understanding this right?

Put 20 yd pin on bullseye at 7 yards, Put 30 yd pin at 5 and 40 at 4 to get close enough to be able to hit the 2x2 bag at those distances?

Oktx has it. And you will be considerably closer to the bullseye than you think using that method. 2x2 inches maybe.
