        From what I've latched onto with the catch pole most critters vapor lock when you get them around the neck, coons being the exception. Haven't tried it but I've seen videos of people grabbing fox and cats by the back of the neck and they freeze also, but that is not from personal experience, the few wild critters I've grabbed by hand turned into a cross between one of those high speed chainsaws with a motorcycle engine and a Tasmanian devil.

                That would be my experience

                No desire to grab something with a mouth full of sharp teeth that could have a good chance of using said teeth on me

                  No but I hear good things about them. I sure like these micro locks though. My catch rate went way up with them.

                            Picked up three coyotes on Wednesday including the male in the above post.


                            This male was the biggest of the three weighing in at thirty-two pounds.
