    Swivels?

    Shock springs?

How much length between trap and anchor?

That is more the info I was looking for

Curious how you make your own too

Heard this guy get caught while I was in my deer stand. Kind of sounded like a rabbit in distress to be honest.

I will get some pics tomorrow of my setup. I have a swivel at the trap and I think about 36" of chain that is welded to the earth anchor. Depending on the soil condition but usually 12" or more of the chain will me in the ground. The pics I get tomorrow will make it easier to understand .

          Earth anchors or stakes?

What is your setup between trap and anchor?
MB Chain Stakes, Crunch Proof Swivels, & 6 Gauge Rivets.

          No shock springs.

I will post up a photo of the setup tomorrow BT.

By far the best staking system that we've ever used. We have this staking system on all of our predator traps. We have personally used this staking system from the black dirt in Minnesota, to the red clay of north Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas to the sugar sand of the Georgia/Florida border, southern Texas, and the Carolina coast. A Fox Hollow Super Stake is attached to 16 of #2 straight link machine chain with a mighty hook, which is welded shut. Just attach your trap to the last link of chain with a 6 gauge J-Hook and Crunch Proof Swivel and you're good to go. When coyote trapping in black dirt we drive it down about 14. In red clay we put it down about 10 and in sand we run it down all 16. No more cable stubs sticking up in your trap bed. We have hundreds of these that have been used and reused hard for 8 seasons. When pulling, hook on the chain link below your swivel to avoid stressing the J-Hook. MB-Chain Stakes

You will need a puller to get them out of the ground too.

I had eighteen traps fishing last night.

Two coyotes took a ride in the Polaris on this morning's check.

This afternoon I was lucky enough to snag a big set-shy male on a blind trail set during the heat of the day.

                            No shock spring?

James do you not use something like a stick on your blind sets to get critter to step in trap?

                              I don't use a shock spring.
