Do these things actually work? I used mine 3 days this past season and was covered in mosquitoes. I had it about 10" from me and it didn't affect them whatsoever.

You put it under your chair and it builds a 15' coverage area around you,YES they work great,dont hunt without mine......

You probably didn't have it ignited. They are lifesavers.

If it didn't work then I guarantee it was operator error.

It was ignited. It got hot, the pad was brand new and had a full bottle of fuel. It just didn't work on them.

Yeah....I swear by mine. You do have to change out the pad every 3 or 4 hours. Also....it keeps the mesquoitos at bay but doesn't do a darn thing against gnats. But gnats don't suck blood. :-)

Is there an expiration date on the pads? Maybe it had been sitting on the shelf too long.
