I would assume that you are right, probly lost the fawn.

Looks like mastitis, happens in livestock fairly often.

That's my guess also. Cattle will stay in water for hours to soothe it. I had a goat get it once. I gave antibiotics, but I doubt you have that option! Not sure what happens when it goes untreated.

Yep, sometimes it resolves itself and others it can cause problems including infection and death.

Another vote for mastisis... but could be a dead fawn, could be cancer... could be infection fron misquite...

Not looking good for fer, coyotes catch her quick if they get on her

Better chance of pine needles.... no mesquite in east tx unless it's in the smoker.

It's just a milk doe. If you catch her you can milk her quite regular.

Had one at work (LEO) that we got called to put down. She got in one of the baseball fields and couldn't get out. It was so big she was dragging it on the ground and rubbed a lot of hide off. She looked to be suffering so we put her down.

Yep I had a doe like this show up last year on camera and asked the same thing. I recently checked cameras again and she is back again so she should be ok

We have one like that at our place. This is the 2nd summer to see her. She is a regular at the feeders. The bag gets raw looking during this time, but during the winter it gets smaller, but still highly noticeable and gets hair on it or heals up.

Somewhat typical if a doe loses a fawn(s) that the milk production will continue due to hormones. The do will typically re-absorb the milk over time. Doesn't look like mastitis to me based on the pics as you will typically see one or two of the nipples that are much larger than the others and somewhat discolored.....
