Hey guys, I was fortunate enough to let the air out of this little guy Friday afternoon. My covert has been catching pictures of axis running to the feeder right after it goes off at 5:30. I hauled tail after work and made it down to my place and snuck into the stand about 5:15. Well my feeder spun and not a minute later I could hear them coming. There is a group of about 30 of them that congregate at the feeder at one time so there's a lot of eyes looking around. I was just wanting meat so I told myself, the first one that gives me a shot that I'm taking it, no messing around. This guy, along with a couple young does, ran in first. I decided to draw and he gave me a perfect 15 yard shot and I took it before the whole herd ran in. He went about 20 yards and stopped.. Seemed like he didn't know he was hit. After about 10 seconds he got the crazy legs and fell over. He will be tasty! Exciting hunt even though it was quick. Here's my set up..
