    Heads up. Deer lease scam.

Just a word of caution:there’s a guy advertising a lease near Mason, but he’s just trying to scam people out of their money. I drove all the way up there last weekend to see the place, but he failed to show up and started avoiding me when I asked pointed questions and didn’t offer money over the phone. He said he’s from Deer Park and retired from Valero. He’s advertised this place as 1200 acres, 1800 acres, and 2200 acres.

Sounds way too good to be true. Something smells fishy.

Maybe he’d like to receive daily cat facts?

Agreed, that country is not going for $9 an acre anymore.

It says rifles and shotguns only no Archery mention. No need to call anyway with no archery allowed!!!

Interesting. After avoiding me since Friday, ignoring my calls (except when I called from a different number), and not replying to texts, all of a sudden he wants to call me. Thanks for making him famous. A simple “I can’t make it” text would have sufficed before I drove 500 miles round trip.

Sure it does I know several people that have lease in that part of the Hill Country that pay 5 to 7 an acre.

He was very accommodating about archery hunting the first time I called him...

That's good for them. I haven't seen or heard of anything priced that low in a while out there.
