Needing recomendations on home printer

Need a new printer for the house and thought I would check to see what y'all had to recommend.
Looking for your typical printer to print thing off the net, worksheets, maps and a few color photos now and than and so on and a scanner would be good. Do not need a fax but that would be fine also. Looking for mid to high quality and one that the ink cartridges do not break me.

good luck brother ...... no matter what you buy, ink is fairly expensive

printer companies know this and have us (consumer) bent over the barrel

for answers , I'd do some research on Cnet or Consumer Reports to see what they recommend

others will certainly chime in

I just got a Kodak printer it seems to use less ink and cartridges are at least half price. Seems like they were about $15 for each.
